As I stated earlier, in 1992 I became an over-the-road truck driver. In the fall of that year, my father passed away. When you're driving down the road in a big truck, you have the opportunity to do lots of thinking. One day, as I recall, my JD Truck Training Centre was out in the great northwest, Montana to be exact. Thinking of my past, my dad, and where I was, I started to create a poem. I call it This Great Land Of Ours.
I was sitting directly across from the Flight School building so, since I had no clue as to where to go, I got out and started walking toward the school to ask someone for directions. Before I got to the door, a white pickup truck stopped alongside me and a hyperactive little old man, who looked to be at least 70, jumped out and raced toward me with his arms flailing wildly and expletives spewing from his mouth like a geyser.
I remember when the Truck driving school was teaching me how to meet all the CDL requirements. They taught me how to back up, shift and do lane changes and everything. But the real deal of getting loaded, to driving through the mountains is another thing.
People parks (not dog parks) are an excellent place for socialization. As long as dogs are allowed on leash, take puppy and let him see the walkers, joggers, bikers and wild life that abounds. Another benefit to parks is the exposure to multiple flooring surfaces. A typical park offers grass, concrete, gravel, wood and pine straw. Parks such as Shelley Lake in Raleigh offer all of this plus wood-plank bridges, a playground where puppy can meet some kids and of course, the lake. This is a socialization extravaganza!
The best way to learn the CDL requirements is training. There are many truck driving schools available not to mention there are trucking companies that have their own HR Truck Licence driving schools. Some trucking companies will pay you for your schooling if you agree to stay in with Hr licence adelaide them for a period of time.
From the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico, high and low, I've been there. From Puget Sound to the shores of Miami I've driven a big truck. From Boston to San Diego I've gone. I've been on four lanes, three lanes and one lane at times. I've seen the cities and countryside. I see all those vehicles and wonder where they're going and why they're in such a rush to get there?

Take my word for it, a trained dog is much more fun than a jumping, slobbering mess. My dog was an honor graduate of his courses and just a test shy of becoming a therapy dog and he's still a jumping, slobbering mess, but that's another story entirely...
